Orvieto's jewels
We suggest to leave after breakfast from your villa/hotel for a journey through history, nature and handicraft.
Orvieto is a unique city for its combination of nature and art. Your visit can start from the highest part of the town, the magnificent square of the Gothic cathedral of
Orvieto. Then you can walk along the streets and admire the typical tuff houses. You will then reach
Saint Patrick's well, a unique work of art in its genre.
After this suggestive tour it's time to have lunch in one of the traditional restaurants and taste the typical products of Umbria.
Between the alleys of Todi and the ceramics of Deruta
After having lunch in one of the typical restaurants in the town, the itinerary can move on to
Todi, birth place of the famous medieval poet Jacopone da Todi. Walking along the town streets it is possible to admire beautiful monuments such as the
Tempio di Santa Maria della Consolazione or Palazzo del Popolo, with its square overlooking the beautiful Umbrian countryside. The last town of the itinerary can be
Deruta, where you can visit different Ceramics (Maiolica) workshops, so as to see Umbrian artisans at work, producing and decorating beautiful objects.
A really interesting and educational experience, on one of the oldest and most successful craft techniques!
Duration of the itinerary: 8/9 hours.
