1) The minimum eligible age to rent a car/minivan is 25 years old.
2) The minimum eligible age to rent a 125cc scooter is 25 years old.
3) To rent a car or a scooter, a valid and full driving license (please note that only the original – not a copy – of the driving license is acceptable) and a credit card (Visa/Mastercard) are required, both in the name of the person who is collecting the vehicle (the main driver). We don't accept Electron credit cards or debit cards.
4) We can deliver and collect the rental vehicles to your home address / holiday accommodation, upon request; an additional charge will be required for this service.
5) Rental rates include: VAT (tax), R.C.A. insurance policy, theft and fire protection (with an excess equal to 15% payable by the renter).
6) The rates for monthly rentals and for unlimited mileage will be agreed, upon your request, depending on the rental period.
7) Fuel, any fines or penalties incurred during the rental, any costs resulting from damages that might have occurred during the period of hire (for the amount/excess that the renter is liable to pay for) will be charged to the client.
8) Before signing the rental agreement, Il Girasole car rental will require a pre-authorization/security hold on the credit card provided as a guarantee of the rental agreement; the pre-authorization/security hold will be secured for an amount that depends on the type of vehicle that is rented. The payment on the credit card will be made at the end of the rental and upon the return of the vehicle; this is due to the fact that there may be additional charges to be included in the rental price, such as for example: the vehicle is not returned with a full tank of fuel, for fines, for damages/deductible for damages to the rental vehicle, as provided for in the conditions of hire.
9) All vehicles are equipped in compliance with road safety standards. In each rental vehicle there is a list of the main Italian road signs, with pictures of them and explanations in English.
10) There is an additional charge to rent GPS navigation systems.
11) There is an additional charge to rent child seats/booster seats.
12) The rates per day in the price list are applicable to weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday.

1) Before your departure, we suggest that you contact your credit card / your bank or cards issuer to check if your credit card (Visa / Mastercard) includes a travel insurance coverage or a collision insurance; if this is the case, you will not need to purchase any additional insurance (CDW, Collision Damage Waiver) through our car rental company to rent a car, a van or a scooter.
2) Please note that American Express credit cards don’t provide this travel insurance coverage/ collision insurance in Italy, for this reason our company can’t accept them.
3) For our chauffeur driven car services, we use Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with entertainment services, wi-fi and bottles of water on board.
4) All our drivers speak English and some of them speak Spanish; they will take the best care of the clients, with courtesy and professionalism.
