Discovering Cortona

Then, you can go to the town of Cortona, where it will be possible to have lunch in a typical Tuscan restaurant and taste home made pasta or excellent local beef steak. The ancient history of this town is testified by the Etruscan walls which surround it, the narrow medieval streets with stunning views upon the Valdichiana valley and lake Trasimeno, the Etruscan academy museum - among the most famous museums in the world: the atmosphere and beauty of this timeless place makes it one of the pearls of Tuscany. The journey back will take you along the beautiful scenic roads going around lake Trasimeno, setting of the battles between Carthaginians and Romans, a route of historical and natural interest.
