Sagrantino is a wine made from the homonymous vine cultivated for centuries in the hills of Umbria. Some argue that Sagrantino is a native vine, others believe it was brought from Spain, others say it was imported by the first Franciscan friars and others by the Saracens.

In the recommended itinerary for this tour you will reach Montefalco in the morning, for the visit followed by a wine tasting at a renowned local winery, that can be proud of its long tradition in the wine making. You can decide to stay here for a light lunch, tasting some good local food along with a selection of wines, or you can move to the small, but very picturesque, old town of Montefalco to have lunch in one of the restaurants that serve delicious Umbrian dishes.After lunch, if you are interested in trying the excellent extra virgin olive oil made in the surrounding hills, you can decide to visit a local oil producer for a tasting.
Alternatively, the tour can continue to Torgiano, another town that is renowned for its wine production, where it is possible to enjoy a visit and a wine tasting at one of the most famous wineries in the area.
